He's certainly getting there. Only a short time ago we were asking to see CONSISTENT excellence as a benchmark of his arrival, and he's done that. No more one good game, one bad game.
For me, sometimes it comes down to who I want to shoot when the game is on the line, and the other night I was thinking "Kemba or JT". It's not that GH or JB are bad options, but those first two guys have earned our confidence. "Not Smart" is also a valid choice."

Excellent point. He’s now delivering on a nightly basis. That was one hurddle he needed to get over.
The next is for him to deliver when it counts. When we need a basket to stop the bleeding, he needs to come through. When we need a bucket late in the game, he needs to get it.
That’s where the great ones separate themselves from the pack.

No, he hasn't. He's too nice. Too polished. He needs to shed some Grant Hill and gain some KG

Tatum was cleared for take off, but couldn’t get off the ground.
Your time will come, Tatum.

I think we cursed him - at least for one game. In all seriousness, he's still going to have clunkers now and then. Even Larry did, well into his career. The key is to not have too many.

No. He leaves 4-6 points every game, because he can not finish at the rim. Also, I think he is comfortable now as a volume scorer, and his FG% will continue to rise.

If we think Tatum is cooking now, just wait till next year. Actually watch how much he grows his game the next 5 years — you know, when he’s all of 26!! - and he could be a top 5 player, and in the mix for MVP.
Wow, it’s incredible to see him blossoming into a superstar right before our eyes.

It is very fun watching him start to fill his potential. He's a good kid and a hard worker that needs to be a lifelong Celtic. I am also enjoying Jalen start to hit his potential too. Danny really nailed those two draft picks.

Just to put some numbers in prospective.. added JT's year 3 statistics compare to another Celtics star year 3 stats. Funny how both players arrive on the same year trajectory within their career.
Jayson Tatum 2019-20 G 54 PTS 23.3 TRB 7 AST 2.9 FG% 45.3 FG3% 39.8 FT% 82.2 eFG% 52.9
Paul Pierce
2000-2001 G 82 PTS 25.3 TRB 6.4 AST 3.1 FG% 45.4 FG3% 38.3 FT% 74.5 eFG% 50.3

I loved PP's game, but to me JT is more impressive, because of the number of other scorers he plays with, and has to share the ball with.
No to mention that the season averages don't reflect the huge leap he's made in the last month or so.

I forgot how great PP was from the start. Then, I remember it's because of those dark ages when the team itself wasn't good and we wasted his prime years.
It's exciting to think that Tatum is ahead of him in the maturity factor (tries on defense and shares the ball) at the same point and seems to have other great players to grow and be great with him.

Tatum to Pierce is a fair if any comparison, however Pierce played 3-years in college, where Tatum only played 1. I do not think Tatum has arrived yet, however he has been IN-credible the past month. That not trade of Tatum/Brown/Smart, and picks for AD looks really, really good right now.
