Looks like we have [HASH]13 in the bag. What we're showing so far this season is the ability to finish strong. Seems like the 4th quarter is when we pull away and seal the game. That's what confident teams do. They outscored us in the 4th.... Our game was sloppy and at times disinterested. This could have ended ugly, because we clearly played down to the competition all game long. Hope all those wins are not starting to get to our guys' egos, because if they do, we're going to be handed a rude awakening next game.

Same thing almost always happens with win streaks - teams mistake winning for playing well - and eventually it catches up with them. That wakes them up and they can get back on track.

We won, that is all that matters. I am not going to criticize a team that is on a 13 game winning streak that didn't play perfect against a lottery team on the road with the defending champs up next. Enjoy the ride as this is about as good of start to the season minus the Heyward injury we could ask for from this team.

I agree with that. I didn't really mean my post as a criticism. It's more like it's human nature to coast a little when you're winning every game. It's a long season and it's hard to stay locked in every game - especially road games against bad teams.

Next game will tell the story of how tough we are mentally as a group, and how much of our winning streak was system/skill and how much of it was luck/poor opponent play.
Hope this year's team is the real deal and we can compete with the clear favorite.

Granted, the Nets did put up a good 4th quarter, but we pulled ahead late in the game, is what I wanted to point out. Good teams do that; and I believe we are inching closer to being a true top 3 - 4 team. We are able to absorb punches, but not get knocked out. And then we start pulling ahead late in the game. And teams are left wondering, gee I thought we had the game in our pocket? Nope, we were always in control We're not there yet, so I hope it doesn't get into the heads of our players that we can coast. Can't get cocky and let our guard down. But we are beginning to show what upper echelon teams are able to do.

Hope this year's team is the real deal and we can compete with the clear favorite. Bad teams don't win 13 in a row, it we already know that it wasn't luck/poor opponent play especially with all of our injuries. For example we beat a Toronto team without Kyrie who in their next game went to Houston and beat them down by 16 points. That shows we have a great system and championship quality depth. All this GSW game is going to show is how close we are to them as they are the league standard until someone knocks them off from their perch. With that said, our series with them is a weird one in which the road team usually wins as GSW has won in Boston for 4 years in a row and Boston has won in Oakland for 3 years in a row.

Agree with what you had said. As long as the pressure of the hype of this game doesn't cause of young guys to be too nervous, we should be competitive. But judging by how both Jaylen and Tatum have responded to the limelight, they get over their nerves pretty quick (or don't show it at all).

Right, the bench lost a big lead for us. We need them to play huge on Thursday. I'll gladly take Smart over Antoine, but that isn't saying much. Smart is a big piece for us this year -- what I think all of us want to see is less chucking. Brad needs to reel him in and have him focus more on passing the ball. If Smart is going to shoot, wide open looks or posting up. He posted up a lot in college, and was effective.
