Give the boys credit for coming back hard and making this a game, in spite of the injury, and the awful shooting in the first half. After an ugly start, lots to like in this one.
Marcus can not be taking 16 shots a game if we're going to win. (5-16 tonight and that just isn't helpful) Last year we were MUCH better if he took fewer than 10 shots per game. I'd rather see just about anyone else shoot the ball - until he proves me wrong.
Jaylen somehow scored 25 points, even while throwing up bricks for the entire first half. If he ever gets under control, watch out.

Tough loss, both in losing Hayward and in letting this game slip away at the end. Glad they showed fight but need to learn how to close out games better. Shooting was awful at times, skinny Marcus needs to slim down his shot attempts - plus Brown doesn't IMO need 9 3s per game -- he is not that good at them yet. Nice to seem Tatum bounce back from a miserable first half and record a double-double. Unlike last year, we held our own on the glass vs Cleveland tonight.
Thoughts and Prayers for Hayward, and let's hope we bounce back with a win against a tough Milwaukee squad.

Hard to commentate after reading/seeing Hayward's injury. Irving, Brown, Tatum were good. Smart, 5-16, def not so good.

I'll take this loss, considering the circumstances.
Look, it came down to the final plays of the 4th quarter to determine the outcome of this game. CLE needed Lebron to take over and make shots, and a key Love 3pt dagger to win. OTOH, we were playing both Jaylen and Tatum, Smart (who was shooting poorly), and we were only a missed Kyrie 3 pointer away from tying the game.
That's what encourages me. Tatum is going to get better -- he already improved his game after the first half of the game. His outside shot wasn't falling, and that's his bread and butter. So what did he do? Attack the basket.
Jaylen was a different player tonight. His game improved from last year. Better idea of what he's doing, but still a lot more room to grow. Bright future for the kid.
Smart didn't shoot the ball well at all, but I think he knows he was rushing his shot. Gotta calm down a tad.
Horford was playing on emotions, and not his usual cerebral style. He'll play better.
Our pace and space was non existent. We relied too much on Smart, and he had the ball in his hands for too long. And our 3's weren't falling.
If a couple more of them fell through the hoop, we win this game.

Did you guys see Horford continually antagonize Crowder? He was really emotional for those few minutes, and he seemed to be directing it at Jae.
Did Horford think Jae made a dirty play on Gordon? (For the record, it didn't seem dirty to me. It was a bang bang play and there wasn't time to think about landing a cheap shot).

Brown look promising with his play tonight especially against a good team like the Cavs. Hopefully he start to hit more of those corners 3's, 9 attempts is way too much unless you're hitting them consistently.
Tatum look timid in the first-half. Definitely a different player when the second half come around. Getting a double-double from the front-line is huge for us.
Smart.. need to shoot better especially he'll be in the starting lineup after GH injury. At least he made a huge difference second half for the putrid first half he had in the game.
Overall, good morale loss and hopefully they can build off that especially the young guys need to mature quicker more than ever especially with GH going down.
GH... Praying for yeah buddy! Hoping for a clean break and speedy recovery.

Why did Brad shorten the rotation? 3 players played 35+minutes.
