Dream big. Think the impossible. If this is the year that we supplant the Cavs, and represent the East in the Finals, what's it going to take? What things need to happen for this leap frog to take place?

Morris needs to be the LeBron stopper he's been reported to be. Rebounding needs to improve considerably. We need to have at least 3 players who are clutch scorers and who can consistently put up points not have a big game one night and then disappear the next. And they need to be able to build the same chemistry with this team as they had with last year's team.

No human being can actually shut Lebron down. But play tough, physical defense against him and maybe he misses 1 or 2 shots he would normally make. Same with Kyrie -- defend him a little more physical and make it just a bit more uncomfortable. We now have more players who are physical defenders, and hopefully this will take CLE out of their game. If I were to add one more thing, it'll be attitude (swagger). I think we can disrupt CLE by getting into their head. If we are a confident bunch, and play with some attitude, we may shake the Cavs up a bit.

Make James, Irving play both ways. Brown or Tatum to emerge as the 3rd/4th scorer.

LeBron and Melo didn't have a chance against us when KG got finished with them. Unfortunately none of the players we have now played with KG to see how it's done. I think Smart is pretty good at it in his own right, thought. As is Crowder.

Probably Smart, Crowder and Morris are the ones who will get under players' skin.

Prime Pierce made James work both ways. In fact, he took his "talents" to MIA.

Make the many open shots that we bricked in the ECF's last year and rebound a hell of a lot better.

Adding to this with injury trouble for Cleveland and perfect health for us.

Losing Kyrie Irving will help us beat the Cavs

Yes. The thing about the Cavs is that they really don't have an offense other than taking turns giving the ball to LBJ or Kyrie and getting out of their way. Kyrie is a great one on one player who was able to give James some rest from having to carry the team. If they lose him, James may have to carry even more of the load, and he's at the point here, as dominant as he is, he does get tired. In any case, it's basically impossible to know what Cavs team we'd have to beat this year.

Man, eastern conference need some level of competition. I hope these athletes there only 8 playoff spots on the West Coast. Good news, it'll give the Warriors alot more competition and hopefully wear them down into the playoffs.
Cavs are in a bad sport right now as Irving is not going to bring the correct value that his talent deserves as Cleveland is going to get lowball offers from other teams knowing he does not want to play for the Cavs this year. Not to mention their Mercenary, LBJ, going to book it next year to create the next "super" team.
If I were the celtics, I would just ride it out especially with the upcoming 2018 draft possibly adding a couple lottery pick talents. It's unfortunate what's happen to the Cavs but, that's the price you pay with today's superstars looking for the easiest way out to get to a championship.

True, the West is a better conference (more depth), however the top 4 teams in the East can challenge anybody in the West. Reasons - better leadership/organization in the West, and the NBA draft. Leadership/organization is better in the West, 2 to 1. The NBA draft no longer provides immediate help.
