Yea but we barely competed with the Cavs when they were putting on the pressure and it wasn't like we weren't trying - it was just clear as day we didn't have enough talent. Sure, IT got hurt, but it showed that even though we went far and we were in the ECF - we are still far away from being a nba championship team with the core we have. I don't put any stock in regular season games and I'm sure Durant didn't either which is why he took the easy way out with the Warriors. I think we can build a Warriors killer, but it won't be with many of the players we have now because, like you said, when need more skilled players.

Yeah, funny thing is we beat the Warriors twice on their own court -- only team to do this. When Jae told KD (when we were recruiting him) we have a game plan to defeat Golden State, it wasn't just talk. But I doubt we could beat them in a 7 game series. But as we continue to add higher level talent, we could build a Warriors' killer. This is what we'll need -- 5 guys on the court who can score, pass, rebound and defend at a high level. The more skilled players we have the better. Brad Stevens made the comment to Jayson Tatum that he likes versatile players and would have trouble keeping guys like that off the court. The Celtics are not only getting skilled players but skilled players who are versatile and who can guard 3 or even 4 positions and who can shoot. I know that Marcus Smart hasn't been that great of a scorer but I've seen a couple of videos showing that he's working hard on his offense, especially 3 pointers this summer. I know that Avery has come back better every season and I have a feeling that Marcus is going to follow that arc as well. He does so much other than score that if he can just be a bit more accurate with his shot, he's going to be very good. And, if the Celtics can score one or two big free agents this summer along with the addition of Zizic and Tatum, this team is going to be very good.
