With all the media buzz and craziness surrounding Ball, and his crazy dad Lavar, that he only wants to play for the Lakers, and that that's his dream, etc., are the Lakers kinda, a little bit being forced to take him?
I feel like Magic is a people pleaser, and he might feel pressure to grab Ball, even though he may feel another prospect might be slightly better than Lonzo.

I don't think so. Despite the smile, magic was a killer on the court, and he wants to win. If he doesn't think Ball is the best talent available, he will pass.

He's also a PG, and I wonder if Magic naturally gravitates towards Ball because, quite frankly, he is a terrific PG who pushes the pace.

To me the 2 through 4 picks are incredibly intriguing. Does LA take Ball? I think they do but wouldn't be shocked if they don't. Do the Sixers take a pg or a SF?
Do the Suns take a SF or a pg?
In the unlikely but distinctly possible scenarios after Fultz do 3 pgs go in a row? Do two SFs go in a row? Does Sac town just take the left over guy at 5?
It's really interesting to me that a guy who has no business being in the discussion at 1 (DeArron Fox) is easily a candidate at 2 - 5, but if a surprise happens and he gets past 5....do the Magic take him? Do the TWolves take him?
Does anyone make a big jump up or slide down? What about the bigs? They're considered 2nd tier largely but what if someone needs one?
That's before you even get to trades.

I love this draft because there is so much talent that there is so much room for judgement and preference. There's no real Oden but a ton of Durants and Giannises

If I'm a team like the Suns or the Magic, I'd move my lottery pick for established and productive veterans (not old veterans, but those who are in the mid 20's).
They already have too much youth, and adding another one just overloads their developmental process.
And it's not like they're adding a superstar with the 4th pick, or the 6th pick. Heck, those picks may bust, or not turn into anything significant.

One thing I could maybe see happening is a team trading a pick for an Avery Bradley but I'm not sure we can do it money-wise. Might need to be a future pick

We have an overload of guards, and Bradley is going to be pricey. Plus his value is at probably it's highest it'll ever be.

In a rational sane world I feel like he'd really appeal to a Knicks or Nets or Orlando. Some team that sorta struck out recently on a guy in the draft the way Orlando struck out on Mario Hezonia

The Magic, after hitting it rich with Shaq and Penny, haven't had success with high picks lately (or maybe they are bad at player development -- I bet Brad could get more out of Aaron Gordon).
Would like to pry their 6th pick away. Would Rozier and a 2nd round do the trick?

I highly doubt that would work.

I'm hearing a rumor that Josh Jackson has a top 3 pick promise and it's probably the Lakers....which begs the question....how far will Lonzo fall and to where? Maybe we could get him surprisingly cheap

Or Philly promised to take him.

What if Jackson did not think BOS was interested, so his agent floats a rumor he has a promise to make his player look OK skipping a workout?
