It's being reported the Celtics have made a trade with the Heat for Guard Zoran Dragic. It has not yet been reported who will be moved.

Sounds like it's a salary dump for Miami. We get a second round pick in the deal and give up a heavily protected 2nd round pick that Miami will probably never see

Miami also sent cash to pay his salary. The Celtics will waive him unless Danny can include him in a trade.
The Celtics sent a highly protected second and received a 2020 second that is not protected.

Yep, just like the Perry Jones deal is no risk. Both deals the Celtics gave up a heavily protected pick - like protected to 55 and got an unprotected pick. Both teams also gave the Celtics the cash to cover the salary. It saves the Heat and Thunder a bunch since they are over the Lux tax and are repeat offenders. and gives the Celtics another asset or two. He can either waive them, use them in a trade, or give them a look see in training camp and then decide. No risk, possible reward.

The repeater tax will prevent teams from carrying fringe players.
