The Celtics announced today that they have signed Jordan Mickey to a 4-year, $5 million deal, with the first two years being guaranteed. That's more than they have given to any 2nd round pick previously. In SL he played like a first round pick and now he's getting paid like one. Glad they locked him up.

Danny has been known to give solid second round selections guaranteed first round money. I can recall Gomes got a similiar deal for the first 2-years. The 4-year deal is really a loophole in the CBA. Glad the C's have Zarren as the salary cap master.

Could prove to be a great deal for us. And if not, well 1.5 mil is not so bad (and only 2 years are guaranteed).

I've been reading where other GM's and scouts feel that Mickey is going to be a steal and make the Celtics forget their first round picks. He got a lot of positive notice in SL where the other two, not so much.

I really liked the play of all 3 selections in SL.

I have very little doubt that Mickey could easily be better than KO.

Mickey is very athletic and long with great instincts and timing. He's going to be a good rebounder and shot blocker. He could easily be better than KO and maybe Sully too.
