Today's the eve of our first playoff game under the Brad Stevens era, so of course our focus should be on how well we're going to do this postseason.
I don't mean to shift our attention elsewhere, but as I'm watching the 2015 playoffs, I've been keeping my eye on 2 names we've heard as potential offseason free agent targets.
Jimmy Butler for Chicago and Kris Middleton for the Bucks.
Honestly, I don't see either of these guys leaving their team (unless we are offering significantly more money, which I don't see Ainge doing).
Milwaukee is just like us -- a young team on the rise. I don't know why he'd leave a familiar situation in MIL and come to a whole new one, with all things being equal.
Chicago is in a better situation than us. They got Rose and Noah, who are 2 key pieces of a championship team.
We most likely have to look elsewhere.

I'd love either Butler or Middleton, but they are both restricted free agents, so the other team has the option to match any contract they sign. All signs point to Chicago matching a max deal for Butler. I think Milwaukee would even match a max deal for Middleton. Today's max deal won't look so bad 2-3 years from now when the salary cap skyrockets.

Also, I think 2016 is the year the C's will really attack in free agency. I think any available 2015 cap space could be used in a trade similar to the deal that brought us Marcus Thornton. I'm sure some team will be will to give up a pick or a prospect to get out of the final year of a bad deal. Golden State and David Lee could be a scenario that we look at.
