i think Rondo will be moved this year (as he should be IMO) but I wouldn't be shocked if it isn't until February. My guess is DA has certain amount of talent in mind, and as soon as someone offers it he will take that offer asap.

I'm now that McLemore has stepped up and grabbed the 2 guard spot in Sacto that they'll be more willing to include Stauskas in any Rondo discussions.

So ESPN is stating that Dallas appears to be a prime trade partner which does make some sense because while Rondo does have value, he is also a FA after this season and teams wont give up a huge amount to get him if they can simply wait it out till next year. Dallas on the other hand is in a win-it-all-now mode which explains their heavy pursuit of him. Lookin at Dallas' roster, they don't appear to have many good pieces worth trading for but reports say that Dallas are willing to part with first rounder picks. I guess if we can get some 1st rounders for Rondo instead of losing him for nothing, then its worth looking into trading him. Question is whether any other team would step up to offer more in order to not risk losing Rondo to the Mavs..

Wow no real Rondo chatter here? Wojo is saying Rondo for Brandon Wright (FA next season) Jae Crowder and a late first. If that's the deal then DA (censored) up

Terrible trade Rondo is gone for nothing! You needed at least some young player back, someone you wanted to keep. The pick will be a really late first. Terrible way DA handled this whole Rondo deal. He held onto him too long.

Sounds like we are getting close to a done deal with Dallas.

He held onto him too long. I can't really blame DA for that. Rondo's knee injury really screwed things up. You really couldn't trade him until around the middle of the 12-13 season. That 11-12 team took the Heat to seven games in the ECF. By the middle of the 12-13 you could see that the window had officially close, but then Rondo got hurt. Then last year by the time the trade deadline hit Rondo had not shown that he was fully over that injury. So basically we had this off season and this season to trade him. Sadly, it looks like this was about the best offer the C's were gonna get. While I'm not thrilled with the deal, I'd rather do this deal then do nothing at all and go into this season with Rondo a UFA. For me, the worst two options were: 1) Rondo leaves and we get nothing, or 2) We sign Rondo to a max deal. While this Dallas trade is no great shakes, I'll take it over the other two alternatives.

I think he should have been moved at the deadline last season, I believe Ainge held out for too much. DA needed to get someone young that had potential in this deal. If this was all we could have got I would of rather taken my chances at the deadline and shopped him to a playoff team, would't get much worse than the late first we got. What is interesting is I believe somehow the trade creates a big trade exception somewhere in the 12.5 range. I don't know what we can do with it but I really hope DA knows.

I think Jackie Mac dropped some sad-but-true science on all C's fans when she talked about how little interest there is in Rondo. Teams know how flawed he is, and no one was going to make a big offer. I think the C's only chance at a quality deal was with Sacto, but that ship sailed when he said he wouldn't resign here. Sadly I think for the last couple of years this is about all Rondo was going to bring on the trade market.

I've heard it mentioned a couple of times now that the C's are looking to move Wright right away. If that is true, it would be interesting to see what we can get for him.

Cavs have said to be interested in him in the past. The Cavs were shopping Waiters. I would rather have Waiters due to his upside but Im not a fan of his 1 on 1 game

If that is the deal, I am very disappointed. In summary, Rondo for a low first round draft selection, and a TPE. Bummer.
