For what ever reason you want to argue both the Raptors and the Grizzlies became a better team after they traded Rudy Gay. Different guys stepped up, some just developed faster. Does anyone think Rondo could have that effect on this team? If Rondo was not on this team how much worse do you think we would be? Rudy Gay is a good player and now is playing well for a better Sacramento team. I have no doubt Rondo playing on a contending team alongside a couple of all stars would make that team better but maybe on this team he makes us worse. This team IMO has no real direction way too many question marks. Will Rondo resign, will Jeff Green opt out.
We are now about a quarter into the season 21 games not a bad time to evaluate. Our record is our record is 7-14. Last season without Rondo 21 games into the season we were 9-12. Not significantly worse with Rondo but definitely not any better either.

Interesting thread. Replacing scoring is much easier than replacing passing. Rondo gets his teammates better shot opportunities. Example - Zeller's perceived improvement in play is really Rondo getting him easy baskets.

I'm curious to see if we become better?

Good question. I remember last year our best stretch was with Jordan Crawford at the PG (but a bit unfair since Rondo was not at 100%) -- Rondo is best when he has all-stars to distribute to. Despite his triple doubles, they were not resulting in many wins.

I guess now that Rondo is gone we are going to find out if they are better without him or not.
