The Celtics tried very hard to trade Bynum in order to get a second round pick or anything for him. But they couldn't find any takers and so today, they waived Bynum. They are on the hook for his 2.9 million salary, but they did save 900,000 by trading Anthony for him.
It looks like Dwight Powell is going to stay a Celtic for at least awhile. I really like him. I think in time he can be very good. He's 6'11" and very athletic. He can play the 3 or 4 and could be a very tough matchup.
The Celtics also waived Jarett Eddie, who they claimed off waivers from Atlanta. He was only with the Celtics 3 days and the final day he was seen in the stands with the Red Claws' coach. I think they brought him in for the purpose of assigning him to the Red Claws.

Amazing to me the amount of money some of these guys are making to do absolutely nothing. Bynum is getting 3 mil to be sent home and isn't even on an nba roster. Bogans is and is basically trade fodder while people are going starving in this world. Ah capitalism at it's finest. Contracts like that should be donated to charity or something.
