Looks like he broke his hand and needs surgery. Out 6-8 weeks. Not good for those who want the C's to make a playoff push or for those of us who want to showcase Rondo for a trade.

The silver lining is that Marcus Smart will have more chance to develop early.

Better now than later I guess. I just hope it doesn't turn into a longterm thing where he's coming back around the all star break. Hope he is ready to go to start the season or a few games in at least. It definitely doesn't help not having him here for preseason though. Bradley, Smart, Pressey and thornton should all get increased time. We have depth at least.

Rondo is gonna have to come back hard. Also 8 more weeks to heal an ACL doesn't bother me

Here's to hoping he doesn't turn into Derrick Rose.. Supposedly it's just a finger from what I read. Stuff like that heals like nothing. I never understood why players are out months for hand injuries. I'd break a finger when I was a kid be out there playing. Just put a splint on it for a week and yo u are good to go.

Not someone who believes conspiracy theories or the speculation rondo punched someone but good way for him to miss preseason and risk reinjuring his acl if we want to develop smart anyways. Either way not sure Rondo needs preseason anyways at this point in his career although would have been nice for him to gel with these guys and for stevens as well.
If rondo is missing regular season games and this continues to go on over a broken finger then I'll start to worry.

He was supposedly at a trampoline park the day it happened but wasn't on the trampoline's. Who knows. I tore up my knee playing basketball an d broke my finger playing flag football so it happens.
supposedly it was his finger anyways and the break was on the back side of his hand which is an indication he was bracing from a fall. like his finger bent backwards too far. I went to grab a flag in flag football and my finger looked like an L.

Rondo for all intent and purposes seems like a good guy to me. There are some d-bags in sports and all walks of life really but Rondo doesn't strike me as one of them. The one time I saw him get upset was at a reporter which I can't really blame him.
It's like marcus smart to me. He got mad at a fan. But the fan was a total d-bag.
I'd rather that and showing emotion sometimes then some of these fake athletes and people that are out there.
Rondo to me and everything I know about him he's a good kid. Stubborn and thinks he's the best but nothing wrong with that.

Yes, he was at the trampoline park because it was his daughter's birthday party. There were several people who vouched for the fact that he wasn't on a trampoline. He was just there for his daughter's birthday. I can see slipping in the shower and trying to catch yourself and getting hurt. On an average, 370 persons of all ages sustain injuries from bathtub/shower daily in the United States. Those between the ages of 25-64 accounted for 37 percent of all bathtub/shower injuries. So it's not a stretch that he got hurt in the shower.

Danny knew Rondo was going down, hence he drafted Smart.

at least we get to see what Smart can do early. Still would have liked to see Rondo out there though. 6-8 weeks seems like a long time for a broken finger. It's also on his left hand. he really can't play for 2 months with that?
I hope Smart dominates early so when Rondo comes back either way we have a nice piece there.
