seems like the Celtics are trying hard to move him. This makes sense to me because KO, Sully and Zeller and possibly fav are going to need time this year. With Green and Turner we might see Green at pf at times too. Bass is the guy who doesn't really fit this roster. Everything else im pretty comfortable going into the season with.

I like Bass because on all accounts he is supposed to be a great locker room guy and a good example for the young guys, but he is pretty redundant on this roster. Would have no qualms with trading him.

Having a vet mixed in there isn't horrible but the issue with bass is he is going to command a lot of minutes. Unless he and Gerald Wallace are going to ride the bench I would like to move both those guys. Big contracts and really don't serve a purpose here. Easier said than done though. But they are like our Amare Stoudemore and there is like 20 mil on the books for those guys. Bass is expiring after this year. Walalce has 2 I think. Everyone on our roster I don't really want to trade right now unless it equals something really better. Wallace and Bass I would move in a heartbeat for really anything that makes some sort of sense. The issue with any of these guys is we have to take something back.
Otherwise Stevens is going to have to figure out a way to play Wallace and Bass sparingly. Moving Rondo to indy or something while these guys eat up money on our roster but I don't really want to do that yet.
Between Bass, Wallace and Rondo ultimately that's the equivalent of 2 max players.
Rondo is fine to me because smart is still very young and can play multiple positions. Unless we are getting some other pg like George hill and Hibbert and even that i'm not jumping on. I tend to think we can do better than Hibbert in the draft but the indy rumor makes some sense. Not sure why Indy would do that either. Maybe go into the season with rondo and and try to rebuild if George comes back. makes more sense for them to just keep hibbert and west though. As far as Bass, guys like KO and Sully have been in the league now and are really ready to play more imo.

It's going to be difficult to make moves but that's the path i'd take I think. I tend to think not much is going to happen and we may just end up letting bass walk and getting a big time free agent next offseason. Barring some unforeseen trade where ainge can maneuver these contracts somehow we may end up paying rondo too. But that's where the glut of our money is and where the focus should be somewhat to try to turn those contracts into better players.
We have a glut of small forwards too and shooting guards. Green Turner, Wallace, bogans, young, chris Johnson etc. We may move green but i'd be trying to move Wallace first. Something has to give in these areas ultimately though.

I think Bass is a very good player on a favorable contract, however he takes up a spot I would rather see Sully or KO play. BOS will be bad again next year, maybe even worse than this year (yes, every team improved while BOS kind of stayed the course, and collected assets).
