probably true on parker but I don't know. Watching Gordon I was surprised how skinny he is though. Smart doesn't get rattled which is good. He looks like he can contribute. he still looks like a young guy to me though.

KO has dominated summer league before but we may still be overlooking him a bit imo. KO can play imo. Sully we haven't even seen him yet and supposedly he is in great shape.
These guys are 2nd and 3rd year. Bradley entering his 4th or 5th where these guys start paying dividends.

I think KO is underrated and still could be a very good player in this league. Pressey also looked improved. Somewhat underwhelmed with colton Iverson but he plays ok but doesn't do a whole lot. he's still a project.
Smart, Pressey and KO did about what was expected and looked good to me.

I don't think not getting Kevin Love makes us a bad team. I like KO and Sully I guess is the point. They should be even better this year. I th ink if we are bad it's because we remain in flux with the rondo stuff and have no direction.
Getting Kevin Love would make us a playoff team but I don't think he is this huge jump over KO and Sully. Never have. it still depends on how big a leap they take this year though.

If Rondo and Bradley actually play together thi syear and we have some direction... thornton, pressey, smart that's a good group of guards. Green, CJ and Young is solid. Our centers are improved too with Favarani and Zeller to me too. We actually have pieces that fit.
It probably wont fit that way. We have Babb and Wallace and Joel Anthony and all these guys where our chemistry is probably going to be all over the place but who knows.
But Babb could take thorntons place. We could trade off some of these pieces. I don't know.
ainge has like a million picks and not sure what he is going to do with them.
ainge could trade rondo for lance Stephenson and we go the tank route for all I know. I hope he doesn't though. we have rondo. id keep that. Try to get a center and build with this core if we cant get Klove.
Be patient. Guys like Nerlens and Embiid may come available again once they go through growing pains. There are centers in the draft too. Develop Zeller and have fun and try to win some games.

Maybe. I liked the way the team competed last year, which was a reflection of Stevens as a coach. A healthy Rondo. Can't see this team losing more games than last year.

Stupid players + stupid coach + Smart = brilliant season.
I love that Marcus Smart has nooooooo idea he's not supposed to be able to defend the hell out of Joe Johnson and DeMar DeRozen.
There is not one team in our division that scares me even a little. Not one.
The Raps. I'll put Rondo, Avery, Smart up against DeMar and Lowry any day. I'll put KO, TZ, and Sully up against Jonas and....whoever any day.
Brooklyn. Lopez? If you think Avery has health problems.....Joe Johnson and KG? I just don't see it. JJ is fine. KG is done. Derron? Gimme Rondo.
The Knicks. Melo and a whole lot of nothing. JR Smith? Tim Hardaway Jr? Whoop de doo. Melo couldn't lead a team out of a paper bag.
Philly. I think they got talent. They're pretty stupid too. They make me nervous.
I think youth is going to be served.
You want to see something entertaining? Watch Brad Stevens say "Hey. Avery. Rajon. Marcus. Whichever two of you defends best starts and the loser is 6th man." Rajon will pout for 3 minutes till his agent calls him to remind him it's a contract year and they want max money and Brad Stevens has 5 more years on his contract.

There's a chance they could win the division (the Atlantic is horrible), but that's even a longshot. Since I am degenerate gambler, I will gladly make a bet with anyone giving 10 to 1 odds that the C's don't win the division. The winner could be paid via PayPal.

I might take you on that bet fresh. I'm not sure if this is the year though. I'm usually good at knowing when to lay my money down. I like our team though. People are underestimating them per usual. We are too talented not to make some noise. Rondo, Bradley, Smart, Pressey has the ability to be one of the more dynamic backcourts around. Green and Turner are no slouches. Sully can play some D sometimes. KO improved. Fav and Zeller aren't bad either. It depends how it all fits though and at this stage things probably won't go as planned but I don't like being a pessimist so much. We have talent. What happens with Rondo is going to be key but he's primed for a big year.
Where people are wrong imo is thinking this team doesn't have talent. We have that. It's more finding the right pieces and how it all fits together. We have Brad STevens as a coach. I think Bradley is right that if players listen to brad I wouldn't count this team out. We have as much a chance to win the division as anyone. I like our roster better in ways.
Rondo's situation and whether we play defense down low is going to be key. If Sully plays tough, with guys like Favarani in there, our team has potential defensively.

Tired of people wanting us to be bad anyways. We could end up the worst team in the league and get the #1 pick but I still won't be rooting for that. The Celtics at some point need a direction and have to get better and this year is still a bridge year in ways but I wouldn't count us out. We don't know this year is a bridge year until we cross it anyways. This team has a lot of question marks. We are overloaded at some positions where thigns don't really fit or make sense. Small Forward is one of those spots. Better to have that problem than not though.

I think BOS will trot out a very bad product. I thought BOS improved, but so did equally or more so did the bad teams.

I think the team will be bad this year record-wise (50+ losses), but I think it will be more enjoyable team to watch compared to last year. We will have more kids getting minutes, which means a lot of mistakes on the court, but also means we get to see the kids develop as well.

On another site I offered 10 to 1 C's winning the division or 5 to 1 C's making the playoffs. I'll offer both of those options here as well.

I agree with Fresh and RR on this one. It will be fun to do a prediction thread again before the season starts. Love Fresh putting his money where is mouth is too, no flip flopping going on there!
