I'd still like to get kevin love this summer if at all possible and this latest move might make it happen sooner although it's not happening today doesn't seem like. But if Ainge is playing chess the latest move might be checkmate. If Love wants out and isn't going to resign and wants to come here he can just walk and we can sign him so what is stopping Minny from dealing him to us? We just acquired picks to go out and potentially get pieces they wo uld want which might take time up until the deadline but hope is still alive for fireworks this summer.
I think DA would rather trade for him in ways, we have all these picks, and Minny would rather get something in return so make a deal danny.

Keep rondo, get love, keep our young guys have them fit into a core group of veterans. That would be my wish.
I still don't think the Celtics want to b uild an all young team. Taht's possible I guess but I think people overrate young talent big time. It takes time to develop these guys. Nothing against sully, ko or pressey either. Or smart. I think they are all going to be good. But it's going to take them a year or so for them even to be veteran status where we could add a guy like tim Duncan in the draft or even consider that a somewhat realistic option. The way the draft is getting Tim Duncan is not going to be easy either and Duncan was a 4 year college player.
That stuff does not seem realistic at all to me. Getting Kevin Love is.

I think if Lebron signs in Clevland the next for them would be Love. Some sort of package of Wiggins and Waiters

I think is exactly what Danny Ainge is doing though and people aren't quite getting it. He's been saying it and the rondo stuff is people with an agenda in ways. The Celtics are making moves to acquire love it feels like to me. This latest move seems like that. Gary Tanguay on the other hand is saying stuff to stir controversy and draw ratings.
If you look at it rationally it sure seems that way to me which to me makes sense because I agree. A young team is nice and we could build that way if we have to but I don't think that is the goal. The Bradley signing and everything in between fits a lot of scenarios and signing him was the right move in that regard. But it's still with the intent to put a team around Rondo.

All this stuff about going into the season to deal rondo is posturing because he is in a contract year. The intent to me is still to put a team around him. Marcus Smart is a good young player and gives us options moving forward but he's young and not on rondo's level.
I don't have a crystal ball anymore than anyone else but that is what is going on right now and isn't even really debateable imo. The Celtics are trying to get kevin love. So was I. The people who want to trade rondo weren't even trying to do this.
Agenda vs going th rough the process and seeing the bigger picture. B eing unbiased. Most people with an agenda want to trade rondo for a bag of chips. The Celtics are not doing that.
Jackie Macmullen is one of the more biased writers there are. She holds grudges. She would tank this team into oblivion if it meant keeping Sullinger. She is a writer who relates to the fans. She isn't a GM.
I think the Celtics are covering all their bases and are prepared for the long haul if that happens. Bradley's signing was that and was smart for that reason because it fits a lot of scenarios. They don't know what is going to happen but are trying to position themselves to make moves if need be.
Their interest in Stephenson was that too. Doesn't mean it was going to happen. But they were interested. The sac stuff same thing. Carmelo too. How much interest is relative. How it all fits into the larger scheme of things and being able to guage the landscape in ways shows rational intelligent thinking on the Celtics part.

I think DA wants Love but we just don't have enough they want good players today. Minn turned down the offer I don't think Zeller and another late Cavs pick put it over the edge. We just don't have enough.

Word out of Cleveland is that the Cavs have made an offer to the Wolves for love including Wiggins.
They may try to rain on Danny's parade and snatch Love out from under him. Things are getting interesting.

Big pieces moving this summer possibly. If Cleveland gets Kevin Love, Lebron will have his super team in Cleveland and we are left with Rondo and not a whole lot of wiggle room there. Not sure who else is coming available. This offseason might be bigger than it seems where next year might not be.

Lebron and Klove are off the market that leaves guys like Aldridge, Rondo and Duncan next year. Players like Durant, and some other younger stars potentially looking to relocate but who the heck knows on that. C's would be left losing Rondo potentially and doing their due diligence again. Building with young talent and hoping to strike it rich again at some point.
Smart would more than likely be our kyrie at that point and not rondo. But that's a long time. At least we are insured but meh.

If the cavs sign ray ray and get love to go with LeBron and Kyrie that's a formidable team. Gordon Hayward is in North Carolina now. Who knows what is going to happen with him.
We can hope we get Aldridge and Durant I guess. might be a blessing if we can't put it together this offseason. Not overly good though. Build through the draft etc..
If Cleveland has that team and somehow gets Hayward as well that's really smart on their part and not good news for us.

Just saw Hayward signed in Charlotte. Good for them. Makes me wonder what DA is going to do with all these picks though. We have 9 now. The future is bright even if Klove ends up in Cleveland we can just let our young guys develop and we have a ton of picks and flexibility but only so many players in the league and the LeBron show isn't over for the next several years.
young players are somewhat overvalued until they actually develop. Wiggins for Love is a no brainer in that regard to me if Cleveland gets LeBron. That's smart on their part. Love is 10 times the player wiggins is right now. young players aren't like they used to be where they come out of college and turn a franichise around. It takes years to develop them.

maybe we'll get Aldridge or something. Lance Stephenson and Hibert for rondo. Who knows. I think getting hibbert and Stephenson for rondo is selling ourselves short somewhat though but maybe we make a run at Stephenson.
We are either going to let our players develop and draft our own guys or put pieces around them. There are only so many players in the league that are worth that. KLove is one of those guys. So is LeBron. Aldridge maybe. Durant. Anthony Davis. Drafting a star player and using picks to put pieces around them like lesser players. That stuff is going to take a while.

Hayward signed an offer sheet with the Hornets. But, Utah has said that they will match it. So I imagine that Hayward will end up back in Utah when all is said and done.
And Love isn't necessarily off the table yet. Cleveland has made an offer, doesn't mean that the Wolves have to accept it. But since Wiggins is included, it sounds like a serious offer.

Hayward definitely ends up back in Utah. Utah has so much cap space that they need to spend about $25 mill just to reach the cap floor.
