My thought was more like why is this on my tv during the nfl draft. If the guy can play football who cares. ESPN is talking about how there were tons of players who kissed their gf's beforehand and no one's talking about it. The other players didn't break down and cry sobbing untrollably for 3 minutes, then putting cake in each others mouths as they made out. If that makes me racist and a hater so be it. Yes I am against companies like espn who will do anything for ratings. If someone is gay I really don't care but keep it to yourself. I don't want to hear about other couples sex lives either. Am I the only person who thinks this way? Whatever happened to self respect meaning something else and not being a sell out?

He shows up at the combine completely out of shape. Getting selected at all is a plus.

He shows up at the combine completely out of shape. Getting selected at all is a plus. I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised. Seems like lots of guys that are in the running for end of season awards end up packing on some extra lbs while on the banquet circuit. You'd think their agents would be on their case about it (or maybe the don't have agents at that time?).

As far as Sam smooching his BF, I didn't see it so I can't really comment. I doubt it would bug me, though. What bugs me is how the draft I set up now. I loved when it was rounds 1-3 on a Saturday and then rounds 4-7 on a Sunday. That first day was always a good time. Now it's so split up it's not that much fun.

The issue with the kiss to me wasn't that they kissed it's that they kissed 3 times in a row then embraced, then put cake in each others mouth and made out lol. If it was cool I'd say so that they did that but it was more just weird. I don't like that political stuff and it shouldn't be on during the draft. That's what parades are for. I don't know why they felt like they had to do that. To each their own and whatever makes them happy but I thought it was a bit much. I don't think there has to be some agenda like that in sports.
Gay people can be cool. They can also be kind of aholes like anyone else. I more thought it was a bit much. If the dude can play football though who cares. Body language is everything. It just came off weird. It was very gay.

I don't agree with his sexual orientation, but that's not the reason I didn't like what I saw. Could he not have elected to give a hug instead? or even a quick peck?

i'm not overly religious or a republican and still feel that there are better ways and women have parts for a reason and so do men. Some things just shouldn't be, but what can you do. Should we be glorifying it in the media like people who disagree are ignorant? not really. I still believe there are thigns that are morally wrong and bad for society. Certain things shouldn't be promoted especially during the nfl draft. I think it's somewhat warped. I'm happy that people can find happiness. But this stuff is promoted its a way out for some people. I don't like bandaids in general. A friend of mine became gay. Was always kind of a mama's boy. He wasn't gay though. He was perfectly normal. People do things to find happiness I can understand but it's still a cop out. The way society is this stuff is being taught and I don't really agree. Makes me believe in genocidal conspiracy theories sometimes which isn't good for me either. I think doing what is right is best for everyone involved. If there is one thing I despise it's when people do selfish cowardly things at the cost of the greater good.
It's no different than the medical field prescribing people medication and labelling them with disorders they don't even have where if they took better care of themselves they'd be fine. I despise greed and warped stuff like that in general. The media has a liberal bias too. I don't like the right or the left. It's like you are either one way or the other and I disagree. There are other ways to be. Like honest and truthful.
The way the media is i'm becoming more and more turned off by society and people which isn't in my best interest either. People are f'd up though. Especially the way the media portrays things. It's like what are we teaching our kids? Do whatever makes you happy at the cost of other people regardless?

LeBron was the same crap. I don't care if Sam is gay. It's not that. LeBron isn't gay and the stuff he does sometimes is just as ridiculous. I understand being oppressed and being black or whatever. It's like a statement like i'm not a slave for some of these people and they have to do what makes them happy. But in the same respect you don't have to be a jerk in response. Being an ahole either way is still being an ahole. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The cake stuff was over the top but not as over the top as the obvious collusion and discrimination against him. I'm pretty religious. I'm pretty conservative. Didn't like the cake stuff. Wouldn't have liked it with a hetero couple either. But you know what bothers me way more than the cake stuff? All the celebratory butt slapping in all sports. What the hell is that? If you're an athlete doing that I don't see how on Earth you can't be ok with Sam. Who the hell was the first guy to do that? What was he thinking? What was the other guy thinking? What happened the first time it happened on tv? What did the commentator say? Did this evolve from the military or something? Like ancient Sparta? I mean there were some very manly men that did some very gay stuff. Didn't Magic kiss Isaiah when he had HIV? I'm not sure Sam is as gay as Dennis Rodman. Whatever. It's a league of racists (Redskins), homophobes (Sam), rapists (Rothlisburger) and other petty criminals (Leonard Little, Vick).
Here's a list of where past SEC DPOYs have been drafted and you tell me what happened here?
2003....142nd overall 2004....17th 2005...33rd 2006...11th 2007....5th 2008...5th 2009...8th 2010...5th 2011...6th 2012...17th 2013....249th
He was a unanimous All-American. Where do you suppose the average unanimous All-American gets drafted?
