Give it some time, think about it, play out the scenarios in your head, jot down your ideas you think up in your dreams, and at a later time we will lock in our predictions and see who made the most accurate predictions about which star players Ainge brings to Boston this summer.
Lets set the week before the draft as the final deadline. You will have up until that time to change and adjust your picks.
I'm not interested in so so players, average players, role players, etc. I'm talking about players who are stars -- and by this definition I mean:
-players who have been on the All-Star team in at least 2 of the last 3 seasons -players who are still in their prime, or just "a bit" past their primes -players who still hold high value in the league
These are the big splash names you can predict.

if the splash is going to happen this summer it has to be kevin love. I can't think of anyone else. Maybe someone has a better imagination than me though. Might not happen this offseason either. There are players who may come available but I've looked around the league and not sure who makes us a champions team. I think Asik and Love would be pretty good. Drafting and possibly trading the pick. I think we hang onto Sully or KO.
There may be smaller moves out there i'm missing though where we keep our young guys. I'll have to get back to you on that.

Thng is I think the names have been tossed around this board over the course of whatever. MKG, Drummond, Monroe, Cousins, etc... I haven't heard many scorers names tossed around though. For most of these guys there are reasons why they aren't going to be moved or they don't really fit though imo.
Maybe we'll get Lebron who knows. KG was cool to me. Lebron is more an arrogant jerk.

For scorers there is kyrie, melo, chandler parsons etc.. I wouldnt be surprised to see Melo end up here overly either. not sure the knicks are going to deal him though. if they get draft picks and we take amare they might though. would be somewhat more surprised with carmelo over love. but i don't know.

I'd say Asik would be the biggest vet we'd get this off-season.

No stars will come to Boston this season. I say there is a better chance we lose a star (Rondo) then we gain one.

I'd say Asik would be the biggest vet we'd get this off-season. Asik wouldn't qualify as a "star" (by the definition in the OP), so it wouldn't be a splash. But losing Rajon would be a splash in the sense that it would create a huge ripple effect.

Yeah, I would be dollars to donuts that Rondo will be moved before we ever bring in another star-caliber player.

If we decide to go the draft route moving rondo may be the biggest splash we make since it's going to take a while.

This draft isn't going to save us year 1. It's overhyped in that regard. Wyc is saying he wants to create a young positive environment where free agents will want to come here which is all fine and dandy. That can mean one of two things. He also says it's going to turn around sooner rather than later and they are further along in the process this time, so is danny, but they have to make good deals, so they are talking out of both sides of their mouth.

If we trade rondo we best be getting wiggins or parker and embiid or something along those lines or exum or smart. Like 2 of the top 5 picks like OKC did with durant and green that year.

Ainge is tough to figure out regardless because he is always one step ahead and ends making something better happen. We have processed this stuff so much though who knows. celticsblog has a few newer ideas as well although more of the same. the new wrinkle is rondo for hibbert but again who knows.
I could see Rondo being dealt. The writing has been on the wall for a while and DA may follow suit. Rondo was a good soldier this year an dhis stock may be right about where it should be. I still am not sure how I feel about it unless we can see on paper what ainge has come up with if that's even what he's trying to do.
I still think Rondo is a player you can build around. He's not paul pierce to me though. Trading hm would have to be something really good and that's difficult to come up with not knowing all the ins and outs of what is going on around the league. Fresh came up with some good ideas seeing the bigger picture in ways. I'm not going to trade him on a dime though.
In the meantime all we can do is keep pushing that. If something made absolute sense right now it would be done. So apparently there are still things the Celtics have to work on. I think Ainge will find a deal or deals this summer that make sense and fireworks will happen. This team doesn't want to go through another year like this year either way. There are going to be changes.
