I sort of think we should although I have my reasons why we shouldn't. I was all for trading Al J for KG. Are sully and KO better than Perk and Al J? Is Kevin Love as good as kevin garnett? Would minny even do the same thing twice and how would they explain that to their fans? Does Love even want to come here or is he more of a laker guy? These are all questions that remain unanswered.
If we traded for Love I know one thing it would bring a player here who would bring excitement back to the garden. Players of his caliber are also rare. Our team is different though. Stevens is a young coach. May be better served dealing with and developing young players. He is similar to Doc but different. I would guess he wouldn't mind coaching a guy like Kevin Love.
If it is possible would you pull the trigger if it meant giving up young talent? Dude is 25 years old and a top 5 player in the nba by my estimation . Would fit well with a pg like Rondo. He is a pick and pop guy. Would need a center down low. There are very few drawbacks by my estimation. Whether he is championship caliber is one though. Whether we can put the right pieces around him and rondo to win a championship is another.

It's tough to give an answer not knowing what we'd have to give up. If you take flip saunders out on the town, get him full of cheap tequila, and then trick him in to trading love for gerald wallace and 2 second rounders, I'd be all for it. But giving up the assets that it would realistically take to get Love this summer? I'll pass.
I can safely say I follow the wolves more closely than 99% of all celtics fans, since they are the local team around here. The Wolves will not trade Love this summer unless they get a ridiculous offer. The Wolves are treating this off-season as their one last chance to show Love that they are serious about winning. If anything, we should be looking to see they will overpay for a player like Green.
The only time the Wolves will really look at offers for Love is the next trade deadline, and even then the wolves will have to be playing pretty poorly for that to happen.

If we deal for love it would be a blockbuster though. It would entail giving up KO or Sully or both for sure and picks. That would be our team is we would be building around rondo, love and whoever else we bring in. much like we did with pierce, kg and ray. It would be us offering them a blockbuster.
I don't know if he can even be had that's the thing. DA would know that and if that's the route the Celtics even want to take. if minny is going to lose him they would be silly not to take a blockbuster offer imo though although it might be a bit early.

my guess is politics will overrule love coming here. Minny isn't going todo the same thing twice to save face and they will probably screw their fanbase worse by waiting until the last minute this time. he'll end up in LA for some lesser offer than we could have come up with.

But let's say for sake of argument Love said that he would not resign in Minny and the wolves decide to move him. I'd say it would take an offer at least of Bogans, Anthony, Sully, our 2014 #1, and at least 2 other future first rounders to outbid other teams.
So that leaves us with a team of:
Rondo Bradley Green Love KO
And even if we are able to score a guy like Asik in a trade (which would involve giving up at least one additional first rounder), does that team really scare anybody? And that lineup would basically take up all of our cap room, so we'd only be able to improve the roster with draft picks and the MLE. That sounds like a recipe for 45-50 wins a year and at most a trip to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

I'd trade for Kevin Love depending on the asking price. This is a guy who is a top rebounder and scorer in this league. But if we have to give up too many essential pieces to get him, he'll be coming to a situation that wont exactly put him in a position to win right away. I'd rather try get Love during his FA. That said he has roots in the LA area and might head there instead...but thats the risk.

The asking price will be too high for me. If Boston and Love are a good match then he can sign here when he becomes a FA.

If we send Sully, Green and picks for love I would have a hard time turning that down especially if we keep our pick this year. The year we traded for KG we kept the 5th pick and dealt it for ray ray. We'd have KO, rondo, Love, Bradley, our pick this year and whatever other picks we'd have going forward. Sully and Green plus picks might be too much to give up though.

STeph Curry would be the guard I would want if we went down this road. I don't know if its possible we could do the same thing with love and curry that we did with KG and Ray. Green, Bradley, Our pick, Sully, KO, draft picks. contract filler like Wallace, bass etc could be used to put all the pieces together. Get a center like asik in here and keep a couple of our young players too like we did before with rondo and perk. It depends on how it all would fit. I don't think we can underestimate what DA will do. Looking at kevin love highlights he is what we would hope Sully would be. Sully to me does not have the quickness that love does. I don't want to say fans overrate sully either because i think he has a lot of potential. How it all fits ultimately is anyones guess but if you can get someone like love over players like Sully and KO who are still developing and may never be in that class that's a move worth making or at least considering heavily imo. I think sully and ko both have allstar potential. Could be in al j's class as players or better or worse. love is a top 5 player in the game already and only 25. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEnSiBWvRmUPairing Rondo with players like Love and Steph Curry or someone like that is not something I would put past DA at all. If he did I can't say I wouldn't do a fresh black flip over it either.

I think I am on the love train more and more than anything else. This draft is overrated and we aren't going to get a player who can come in and solve all our problems. We might not have a choice but to be patient and it's good to downplay this stuff. I dont know if we can get kevin love but he is the guy who solves all our problems isn't he? There are very few trades i would make but kevin love is one of them if all the stars align. I wouldnt sacrifice our future but this is a move we have to make i would say. If we can get love then yes make that deal.
if kevin durant were in this draft i would think otherwise. If we get the #1 pick it might make it interesting. Wiggins is pretty good but isnt kevin durant. At least not yet. Love might not be KG either but it's a deal worth making. I think if we can get a player like Love barring some unforseen circumstance where we get the #1 pick you have to do that. Even then Love over Wiggins is like flipping a coin. It's more of a tough choice.
Our roster as it stands needs pieces and movement in some regard depending on which way we go. Love to me is too much of a sure thing to pass up in most cases.
The question more to me is i dont think minny will trade hm here and i think he will end up in LA because kahn.
