Lets say you are Danny Ainge, and there's a trade offered to you, and you really want to do it, but the team is asking for either Sullinger or Olynyk. Which one do you trade?
I like both of them, and wouldn't mind keeping the two headed monster together. If this question was asked earlier this season, it would have been an easy choice for me (Sullinger). But now, its no longer an easy choice to make.
FL, I know its like choosing which child you love more -- its impossible!! But for the sake of discussion, I'd like you to choose just one.

this question is evil. I would have to flip a coin then go best of 3 if I didn't get what I wanted, then best of 5 and 7 and so on and it would be endless. If I had to choose one it would be Sully. No wait KO.
Sully to me is like pierce playing pf. underrated but a lot of heart and a warrior. Both have a chance to be special. I think I can see Sully more as a roleplayer though because he has some concerns.
KO does as well though but I think KO has more offensive potential. Both are good passers and versatile. One is short and stocky and the other guy is tall and like a gazelle.
Keep them both. Ainge may face this choice though with a guy like Kevin Love. Both have a "chance" to be special but could be limited and nothing more than roleplayers as well. Both of them lack that upside in ways. But going by what I've seen so far I think th ey can be better than average players and be what we need together.
I think the answer is that. They should be kept together.

kevin love is basically if Sully and KO had a baby and both players in one. Ainge has a difficult decision to face there. I would say they both stay or they both go. KO or Sully wouldn't fit with Love. They fit with each other.

If one has to go and we get kevin love I would say keep either as a role player and flip a coin. Probably sully because he is more a bull inside on putbacks and could serve a purpose as a roleplayer. I'm just guessing though. I don't know who would fit better. KO might have more value as a potential star to a young team and they might see him as a young dirk or something where he is more in line with al Jefferson. he's a poor man's dirk.
DA traded Jefferson over Perk because he fit better as a roleplayer and I think it would come down to that. Who is the better roleplayer.
could have that completely backwards. Sully to me is more like Perk but then again so is KO. They are both like that. The are both offensive versions of perk without the defense. They are the reverse of perk.

if we are doing what we were before wouldn't surprise me if KO gets dealt for Love and its the same thing that happened last time with Jefferson and derren and I are reversed this time. What comes around goes around. I still think this time we build through the draft and keep these guys but who knows.

Sully, though that isn't as easy a question as it was a couple months ago. But when having to choose between similar bigs, I'm gonna go with the one that can rebound.

I am more a fan of KO if I ahd to choose this time. I think he can do more things on a basketball court than sully. Sully is all hustle though on rebounds and it's a tough choice. from a team perspective we are probably not going to need ko to be doing all those things if we get kevin love. So KO is more likely to go. i'd rather draft a center or sf.

W/ Sully and Oly, Sully is an undersized PF and Oly is an oversized PF which is why adding a rim protector would be very important.

Is it possible to add a poll to this thread, DM?

Depends on what the trade is for and the direction you're heading:
If you're trading for an offensive weapon and plan to put out an efficient, offensive-type team...then i'd probably keep KO. He could be a Channing Frye type on a Suns-like offensive team.
If you're looking to solidify your defense a bit and get better, i'd probably keep Sully due to the rebounding and general intangibles/hustle he brings...Would be the ideal role player/big man off the bench IMO on a top team.
Either way, both need a talented/stronger big man to be paired with...Their D/interior presence leaves a lot to be desired. Sully with his length/body type and KO with his below average foot speed and athleticism.

Love is like if KO an dSully had a child together. Kill two birds with one stone.
