I think we're going to win the Finals because our defense is a tick better, and our best 4 players are better than their best 4.
Here are 4 keys to the game in my opinion:
1) Rajon Rondo.
I'm going to steal Doc's assessment and say that Rajon will be the key to the series. When he's got the pulse of the team and he and the team are in sync with each other, that's when it gets exciting. We go on huge spurts that demoralize a team's spirit. And when he's pestering on defense, he makes it difficult for team's to get comfortable running their plays. Without a doubt, when Rajon's doing well, we're doing well.
2) Paul Pierce:
Sure Kobe can go off for 40 points, even with our guys doing their best to guard him. But Pierce has the ability to neutralize what Kobe does offensively by trading shots back and forth with him. I hope it doesn't get to the point where we have to resort to giving the ball to Pierce and having him create points for us. But if need be, I think Pierce is ready for that.
3) Rasheed Wallace.
Gasol is an x-factor for the Lakers. If he's playing well, it could be a very tight series. Perk has done well guarding good big men the entire playoffs--but by far, Gasol is the most agile and fleet footed big man Perk has had to face, and its not Perk's strength to guard quick 7 footers. I think foul trouble will come into play, and that's why we'll need Rasheed to play good, smart defense off the bench. If Rasheed can block some shots and rebound hard, we can contain the effectiveness of their bigs.
4) Nate Robinson
He has to be the spark off the bench--the catalyst. Tony creates excitement with his hustle play off the bench, and Nate has knack of exciting the crowd and his teammates with his quick bursts of points. We're going to need it cause our starters aren't going to play uptempo much.
