I would give it this season only for Allen and KG. Allen is staying healthy but his skills are eroding. Build a team around Rondo and Perk. With Perk showing more promise and Rondo will be as great as he wants to be we should dangle Allen and KG for what we can get. The Celtics after all is said and done is a business.
The biggest sign we're losing it is even the bottom dweller teams with athleticism are giving us a hard time. Time to move on after this season.

Rebuilding with Perk Rondo and maybe with Big Baby as a Lamar Odom type 6th man and we'll see if Marquis stays because he could definitely improve..but what we will seriously lack is team chemistry and identity once the Big 3 leave..better to rebuild a young team rather than hold on to aging superstars and hope for the best. Personally, I'd love for us to get better through the draft..ensures a dynasty lasts longer that way..but it'll be tough for us to get good picks unless we trade our Big 3 while they are still healthy and even then, we won't get much back because most teams wont want to take on big contracts for aging players. And what really sucks is that the next big thing a.k.a John Wall is likely to go to a trash team like the Nyets or Limberwolves..damn it all! The least we could do in the draft is possibly with alot of luck, get someone like Paul George or Wesley Johnson to replace PP or Ekpe Udoh/Craig Brackins to replace KG.

I'm putting this loss on lack of effort and lack of focus. One stat to look at to see how much effort a team is giving is rebounding. Much of rebounding is focus, effort and desire. The team that wants the rebounds the most gets them. They hustle to the ball. That is how the shortest player on the court can out rebound centers and power forwards. The Celtics were out rebounded 50-39. The effort, focus and desire just wasn't there for the Celtics.
Another place to look for lack of focus is free throws. The Celtics shot 53.6% from the line as a team. When a team is that far off on free throws, they just aren't focused on the game. Free throws aren't a matter of legs, fatigue, or anything else. Some players like Rondo and Perk just struggle whether they are focused or not. Red said that the larger a player's hands are, the harder it is for them to hit free throws or maybe it is just a matter of form. But when players like Paul Pierce who normally hits his free throws goes 6-10, then he just isn't focused.
The effort just wasn't there to win this game. The Celtics weren't running their offense and weren't spreading the floor. Doc said that he wasted 3 time outs just to try to get them to focus and be where they were supposed to be on the court. Yeah, maybe they were tired, but they get paid millions to put out that effort and they just didn't do it last night.

Tired team, tired performance. I'm not reading anything more than that into it.

Some very good thoughts on this thread. The team needs more from Glen Davis. Williams has already exceeded my expectations. And Scala, NBA's Will Ferrell is about as good as he could be.
