Shocked! I guess they figured the Allen brothers can sub at the pg spot if Rondo goes down again. Maybe a trade is brewing to bring in someone else but we really have no legit backup pg at the moment.

Makes sense. I think this is not so much about Hudson as it is about Daniels, TA, and even the likes of Ray proving they can bring the ball up and play point behind Rondo. More importantly, it creates a roster spot, which gives us the flexibility to add a player. Hudson may make a decent back-up on some team, somewhere, but he has no place on a championship contender. This is good, IMO - Danny has been good at adding players the past couple of years, and hopefully can do the same this year.

The one good thing I think it accomplishes is to send a message to Giddens and Walker.

no back up point guard and another blown draft pick on the celts? You don't say yes...2nd round picks are a given right?? You cant call a 2nd round pick a blown draft pick since in most cases 2nd rounders don't make NBA rosters. This has to be to open up a roster spot for someone. Tyrone Lue? I hope Ainge can do better then Lue.

No worries. Dude was like the 2nd to last pick in the draft. He deserves some credit for making an NBA roster at all.

I hope this wasn't to make a spot for Lue.

I think that the team will make the following:
1. Try and do a 3-2, 2-1 trade in the next weeks
2. If nothing works, then they will sign Lue for the rest of the season

Agree that DA might be looking for a trade. I wonder now if the Scal+TA package would have some appeal to teams, as TA has picked it up, and shown himself to be a fairly good rotation player (unless he suddenly loses it all again, which would probably surprise no one). If we could get a better wing to play with House and Marquis off the bench, we would be all the better.
But the other thing the roster spot does is open up a place for anyone who can maneuver a buy-out. As always, there may be guys in a contract year on poor teams that would sacrifice some money for a shot at a ring. I don't know who that might be this year, but we have done this the past 2 years, so I have to believe we will be looking.

What exactly were people expecting from the #58 pick? Jeesh.
Personally I think the kid has shown something in his limited minutes and wouldn't be surprised to see him either back here or catching on elsewhere. More than anything though this is simply about having the roster spot to add someone if the opportunity arises.

He was picked up by the Grizzlies. I think the kid has potential to stay in the NBA but with this team's overall goal of a championship and Doc's lack of faith in young players, he was never going to get a fair shot here.

It would suck if he actually turned out to be full of potential ala Steve Nash storyline..
