Paul Pierce or not, our offensive output was terrible. The difference was 5 of their guys were in double digits while only 3 of our guys were in double digits. Our bench was ridiculously useless...Their bench outscored our bench 35-15...We also played horribly with 25 turnovers..And like you guys have already said...we're so defensive these days that we've forgotten how to play offense...not to mention this was against the Warriors who have one of the worst defenses in the league..

Hmmm..... I feel quite differently. He made poor passes most of the night, and he wasn't a factor offensively. Defensively, he was so so. I've seen him play much better before. I think everyone on the team was turning it over. GS was all over the passing lanes and everyone was doing that.

The good news is guys like Rondo are getting a chance and experience trying to be that guy down the stretch. We are falling flat on our face, but these are growing pains imo. Normally we look to pierce in these situations nad we are having to go to other guys. We just were turning the ball over way too much. Yes, I agree here. Rajon was put in a position where we needed him to score late in the game, and to his credit, he did. Both at the line, and creating offense. Bad things is, the team either couldn't hit their shots, or they just stood around and watched.

I think everyone on the team was turning it over. GS was all over the passing lanes and everyone was doing that. Rondo had 6, Tony had 5, Big Baby had 4..those were the main culprits.. But I look at these things in terms of minutes played and then I realize how bad this really was...10 minutes of play and Big Baby had 4 turnovers..that was just horrible play..Then Tony who played only 28 minutes and had nearly as many turnovers as Rondo who played 46..Is this guy done with his so called "improved" streak? Is this guy turning into the old Tony we know? The only good thing I can take out of this is that Rondo really does deserve to be an All-Star..Today he played as good offensively as any point guard could.

it was all down the line imo. Ray had 3 turnovers, perk had 4, KG had 3. We are arguing semantics but when your bigs are turning it over that much it's more just the way we were playing offense. We were way too passive and guys were standing around and not coming to the ball and out of position. GS is a team that will kill you that way and thats why they had so many guys in double figures and their bench played well because we were playing right into their hands offensively. Overall I thought TA did a good job playing his game and playing d and finishing on the break. That's who he is. The turnovers were by everyone and anyone. It was just a lazy effort all around.

Wow did anyone see what the tech on KP was for? That was one of those T's that Donaghy was talking about where refs make bets on who gives out the first T to a certain player. Even on the Warriors' boards they were saying it was a terrible call. The refs just have it in for Perk and even when he contains his emotions ( he did a good job tonight even with several terrible calls against him) he gets called for a T for doing nothing!

I was happy to see Rondo hitting his FT's tonight. Good for his confidence in the future. We should have won this game. Doc has got to get Sheed into the post and stop him from chucking up 3's all game. He is killing us out there. Terrible calls all night long. Celtics giving up an 18 point lead by forgetting how to play defense. Just a very frustrating game. Rondo had a monster game though but worried now about the hamstring he tweaked in this game. We don't have another PG on this team and if the hammy keeps him out for any time at all, we are in a world of hurt. Big Baby sprains an ankle in just his 3rd game back. He has been playing well so hopefully it isn't serious. Biggest concern is the failure to play defense.

Oh, and loved seeing Perk and KG doing jumping jacks in front of Radmanovic trying to inbouind the ball. Great strategy.

Nice post yama! Welcome to CG. I really thought the refs had some awful calls both ways but mainly against the C's you were just kinda wondering why they just didnt let them play. Fouls are a part of the game but there also comes a time where no fouls are part of the game too.

26 turnovers kind of sums it all up. Still, we lost by only 4 pts.

I really felt like it all boiled down to the poor calls by the refs, the refs zapped the energy right outta the team you could see their frustration. That led to a lot of turn overs, not saying the celts should let it get to em like that but there comes a point where its incredibly hard to play through it !!

I think this is where coaching comes in to play. We're becoming a team of 3 point shooters. 5/19 not good. House has been off, R. Allen has been off. We miss Pierce and Davis no doubt. We also need Doc to coach instead of working the refs the entire game.

I'm about ready to kiss the NBA good bye. Way too much refs input into games. They are trying to be part of the act and should be in the weeds instead. These tech fouls on Perk are way over the top. I see Kobe and his antics rarely getting techs called. We are not a well coached team and the Elite on the team are running free with no restrictions. Every pass doesn't have to be a highlite film. All the 3's are not necessary with the size we have. Perk should be touching the ball most times down just to get it in deep. Even without Pierce we should be 2/1 on this trip instead of 1/2. It will be tough in Phoenix to get to 2/2 which was my prediction. We have a very loose ship that needs some coaching discipline. We have fine shooters, lets get back to basics. We're starting to look like a sloppy version of the Harlem Globetrotters. C'mon Doc coach.

Celtics2 I agree about the refs. Last night there were a lot of terrible calls that just kept the Celtics from getting into a flow. One way to know if the calls are really going against you is to look at the other team's boards and when they are talking about all the favorable calls they are getting you know the calls are bad. And last night they were talking all night about all the favorable calls. Several of the Warriors fans commented about how bogus that T call was on Perk. He did nothing to deserve it and I credit him for keeping his cool and not going after the ref for calling it.
In the last Lakers game I watched, Kobe got a call against him and he even grabbed the ref by the shoulder and spun him around to scream at him and no technical. That kind of inconsistency is just making this league have absolutely no credibility.
Aside from the horrible officiating, the you are absolutely right about the 3 point shooting. The 3rd game of a road trip and especially in back to backs, they should not be shooting 19 3 pointers. So they hit 5 of them and got 5 extra points. Had they taken the ball inside, I am confident they probably would have hit at least 15 of those 19 shots and gotten 30 points instead of 15. That is a coaching problem. Doc needs to reel them in and stop the chucking from outside. He has always been a fan of bigs who "spread the floor" but come on.... Sheed is shooting something like 28% from out there. Time to stop spreading the floor and put Sheed in the post where he will be more efficient.
All that said, I think this team will be fine. They have a couple of key injuries right now and they are having some mental lapses, all teams have those stretches when they slump, even championship teams. One thing we need though is a back up point guard. I'm still not so sure that Lue isn't in the wings to come out fresh and play after the All star break. He will already know the plays and the system and from what I hear he has been working out with the team and staying in playing shape so we won't have the problems we had bringing in Marbury and Cassell.
