Interesting--I have no idea of this guy's credibility, but if I'm the Pistons, I don't make this move either.
But what this rumor does is add gasoline to the fire that Rajon could be for sale. More and more rumors are surfacing with Rajon's name connected to it. We can conclude that Ray Allen is nearing the end of his time in Boston, but Rajon being shopped is a head scratcher.
Is there more than meets the eye with Rajon's relationship with Doc and his teammates? Or is his future financial situation that big a deal that we'd move this high ceiling PG?

I would make this deal. Essentially a three for one swap. Hamilton and Prince alone bring a ton of experience to play alongside KG and Pierce.
Rip slides in effortlessly in Ray's position while Stuckey can start at the point. Plus Prince coming off the bench to spell PP? The Celtics can put all their resources fully on a point guard and big man in free agency if this deal goes down.
Why wouldn't you make this deal?
Rajon is nice but come on. He still needs to prove he can hit the outside shot with consistency. He still needs to cut down on his turnovers. His defense also needs improvement. Did anyone not notice how the aging Anthony Johnson would blow by Rondo for layups in the Magic series?
I like Rondo I really do but let's stop pretending he's the next Cousy or CP3 and is untouchable. He is still a long way from that.

I wouldn't judge Rondo too harshly given that he was playing on two bad ankles.
For me there are two issues when it comes to Rondo. One is how good he is and the other is how much fun he is to watch. I don't dispute that he still has holes in his game, but there hasn't been anyone I've enjoyed watching more in the last 20 years. For that reason, I'd hate to see him go.
I don't believe that Danny is trying to get rid of Rondo. But it wouldn't shock me if he threw out trade proposals that were heavily in the Celtics favor just to see if someone bites. That's different from "trying to trade Rondo".
I'm convinced that Danny will try to fill in around the existing core with veteran free agents. All the rest is just Danny doing his due diligence.

hmmm. i like rudy gay. and rubio hehehehe. Ray is going to be moved as well. psst. Rubio is going to be a celtic birdie... I'm telling a birdie. Not a little birdie told me that. That's what is so funny here. But i have this weird feeling in my gut i should probably shut up about because im probably going to jinx it.
If we get Conley, Gay for Rondo, i'd be happy. But that means ray is going to be moved or moved to the bench in the interm. I can see Ainge dealing Rondo for Conley and Gay. The Griz taking Rubio or Thabeet. The C's moving Ray to the bench and trading him once a fair offer comes up for bench help.
If we can get Gay and Conley for Rondo we have to make that trade. Done deal if I'm Ainge.

from what i read on it it sounds like someone pulled a very funny and believable joke. Several sites are now reporting it based off a thread started on realgm that was posted with no link or anything of the sort.

I would do a back flip if that RR for Gay trade was true. But i don't see it happening. Memphis would be getting hosed. But let's say it did happen. I say we go out and get either JKidd or AMiller and let Conley come off the bench. Then go and offer the best available big whatever scraps we can throw at them (hopefully its McDeuss).
Look at this starting 5-
Kidd (or Miller) Ray Pierce KG Perk
and the bench?
Conley House Gay (off the bench!) Baby(if resigned) McDeuss
That bench is ridiculous.

well it does make sense. Minny wants the 2 and rubio. Memphis would be able to trade down and pick up the guy they want. We'd have ray and several other pieces to trade during the season. I dont think Memphis is getting hosed. They'd get Rondo and could trade down with Minny. And get Thabeet and Evans or Harden maybe.
Think about it. Minny just got rid of Foye. They deal with Memphis draft Rubio to go with Jefferson. Memphis trades us Gay and Conley gets Rondo who is an upgrade for them, and trades down and replaces Gay with Harden or Evans. Also they can still get Thabeet. They want talent and youth. Gay does not fit with Mayo.
