Doc Rivers said this..
"I saw a very good Ray Allen. Ray Allen got hurt, had a very severe thigh bruise that nobody really talked about in the NBA finals after he had a spectacular game early, in the third game. He had a severe thigh bruise; his legs looked about two inches bigger and all black and blue. Ray had a terrific year, he had his best year of his career shooting inside the arc and then he really stepped up and shot the ball outside the three-point line in the second half of the season, so I'm encouraged that Ray has a lot more left in the tank."
I wonder how he got that bruise and who gave it to him and if a foul was called on the play?

I'm still sick fo stuff like this. Still can't believe how a flagrant wasn't called here? www.youtube.com/watch?v=31Nk94-3y_4That's the best video i've seen of the ridiculousness that was last years playoffs. Look at Rashard Lewis clapping after that cheap shot.

He got the bruise when Ron Artest slammed his knee into Ray's thigh in the first quarter of game 3. No surprise that it happened right after he had that huge game 2. I don't remember if a foul was called or not but I'm thinking not because I remember being very upset about it at the time and thinking it looked like it was done on purpose by Artest.

that stuff still pisses me off. More fuel to the fire. The thing is hte c's don't really talk about it themselves but if i wonder if behind the scenes if it fuels the fire just a bit. Some of these things were clear cheap shots and from the look on the C's faces they knew it too.

Can't do much. Most Artest would have been given was a flagrant 1. He could feign surprise like the piece of crap he always was and say it wasn't intentional. Artest has always been a dirty POS never liked him and never will. But it does explain how one of the league's top shooters got so cold. Even Reggie Miller at his oldest never got so cold for so many games in a row.

what's weird is all we heard about was lebron's hurt elbow. I wonder if that was even real. We heard nothing about this until after the fact.

The same way we only hear about Pierce getting his joints drained only months after he had it done. They don't bother highlighting their injuries because they play through em and I bet if Doc let Perkins play in Game 7, he would. Thats just how committed they are as a team. Kg came back early last year because he didnt wanna leave his team. Rondo played with an ankle injury as well last year. But one tiny elbow and thats the entire reason the Cavs "lost". Until of course now they say he quit.

The earlier Celtics lead by Pierce did have their moments
and then with the Big Three in place, there was this classic move by Pierce in the 2008 Finals - remember?
A lot of this by Pierce was tongue-in-cheek, but nothing on par with the seriousness of "The Elbow" of LBJ in the Celtics series. Then we got "The Decision". Too much drama for one man . . .

Pierce is from LA though. He has some drama ingrained in him. We've tried to change him but some of it is still there.

No one mentioned Ray's injury until after the fact and it was never used as an excuse, especially by Ray. Danny mentioned it on the radio the other day also saying that Ray had a deep thigh bruise and his leg was all black and blue and swollen to twice the size.
That elbow nonsense was an excuse that LeJerk was using to explain the fact that he was playing like doo doo. He couldn't afford to win it this season or he would have had no excuse to leave Cleveland and as has been said and proved, this move to Miami has been planned for over 2 years. So, he comes up with the elbow thing so he wouldn't have to play well and could lose and blame his team for it. Then he could leave without having to feel quite as bad. They never built a team around him etc etc. But that team was good for over 60 wins during the regular season and if LeJerk had played his best in the playoffs may have gotten past the Celtics and Magic and he couldn't take that chance. So he made up that elbow boo boo and made it very public thus giving him and excuse for letting his team down.

I faintly recall the play involving R Allen, when R Artest ran into him. I didn't think the foul (if a foul was called) was a flagrant. Artest has been known to play street ball defense. However, in this particular play, R Allen got hurt and coincidentally, his shots didn't fall in subsequent games.
