vs Boston Celtics (0-0) vs Philadelphia 76ers (0-1) Wednesday, October 6 7:30 PM ET Preseason Game 1 TV: CSNNE, TNT Radio: WEEI Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester, NH RosterRay Allen Avery Bradley ** Marquis Daniels Glen Davis Semih Erden Kevin Garnett Luke Harangody Stephane Lasme Jermaine O'Neal ** Shaquille O'Neal Kendrick Perkins ** Paul Pierce Nate Robinson Rajon Rondo Von Wafer Delonte West Mario West ** Injured Key Players to Watch Reports are that KG has been explosive and in 2008 shape. Celtics fans will be watching to see for themselves. We were hoping to get a look at the Celtics two new big men but only Shaq will play as JO sits out and rests his hamstring. Word out of camp is that Delonte is making the most of his chance here and according to Paul Pierce has been the 3rd best player in camp. It's been a long time since we have seen Delonte in green and it will be good to see him back. RosterTony Battie Craig Brackins Elton Brand James Florence Spencer Hawes Jrue Holiday Andre Iguodala Jason Kapono Jodie Meeks Andres Nocioni Trent Plaisted Chris Quinn Darius Songaila Marreese Speights Evan Turner Louis Williams Thaddeus Young Players to Watch Elton Brand hasn't worked out in Philly like they hoped but they are still paying him more than $15 million and maybe this is the year he will break out for them. Andre Iguodala is back from Turkey with his gold medal and ready to once again try to lead the Sixers to the playoffs. He can go off for a big game at any time. Sixers fans are very high on Jrue Holiday and Coach Doug Collins believes Holiday should be one of the top five point guards in the NBA this season. Game Notes:Both coaches will be looking to try different lineups and rotations and determine which players are going to make the team. Doc will probably use his regular starting 5 and then mix and match through the game. But, in the preseason, anything is possible and it's hard to name a starting 5 or discuss the matchups, especially in the first game. CELTICS BASKETBALL IS FINALLY BACK!!!

Wonder if no.2 overall pick Evan Turner will play.
I'm hoping Elton Brand plays well because I want to see how our bigs do against him. It will be a test to see how they fare against a former All-Star.
As for Iggy, hes not much of a threat. In four contests last year he had 17 points, 14 points, 25 points and 18 points...not exactly Kobe or Lebron type numbers. My question is how effective Jrue Holiday will be as a point guard in facilitating others and how well will Rondo continue his defensive streak from last year. They're both quick so it should be a good contest.
Some side notes. We beat them 3-1 last year. That one game they won, was when Elton Brand showed up and scored 23 and tipped in a game winner with 1.1 seconds and snapped our 11 game win streak.

Yeah!
Finally a Celtics game! Can't wait to watch the new Celtics blending with our core. Also it will be interesting to see something from players in search for the last roster spot: Gaffney, Wafer...
Go C's!

As FL pointed out in Celticslife, probably won't see any JO and Delonte against Philly

From what Doc said, JO will probably miss both the Philly and NJ games. Although JO says he is day to day. They both say it's precautionary though and he'll be fine. They just don't want to take a chance on aggravating the hamstring in a preseason game and have him out for the season opener.
Doc said he expected Delonte back in practice tomorrow. So we may or may not see Delonte.

The celtics have 5 hall of famers in their starting lineup right now. I think the starters are set. Let's see what the bench can do?

We look ridiculous.
That starting 5 with Delonte and Davis coming in. Nate and Erden with Jermaine out to come next. The big 5 is in full effect.
Erden has really long arms and seems active.

I doubt Philly cares if they lose. They got no fans watching this anyway lol. Everyone is busy celebrating the Doc's no hitter! And I was watching that too! Awesome game

Hmm just one small gripe about this game which is that we're still giving up quite a few offensive rebounds to the opponents.

Erden secured a spot. He looks like he is going to spell Perk as the 5th big and play a role.
Ainge also got some longer bigger sf's with lasme and mario west.
