Key Matchups
[image] vs [image]
Rajon Rondo vs Baron Davis
Rondo has to still be stinging from Baron's last second game winner in their last matchup. Baron had the slight edge with 24 points, 13 assists, and 3 steals to 20 points, 6 assists and 2 steals for Rondo. Rondo should be looking to even the score in this game.

[image] vs [image]
Kendrick Perkins vs Chris Kaman
Chris Kaman netted a game-high 27 points and 12 boards in the last meeting between these two teams. Perk has to do a better job in this game of slowing Kaman down.

HonorableMention
Kevin Garnett vs Marcus Camby
This is a matchup between 2 defensive players and it should be a battle. Camby is the Clippers' leading rebounder and shot blocker and both KG and Camby are key to their teams' focus and success. This will be a tough matchup for both players.

Game Notes
• The Clippers are currently leading the season series 1-0; Celtics and Clippers split the season series 1-1 in 2008-09
• Ray Allen led the Celtics with 18.5 points per game last season
• Baron Davis averaged 14.5 points per game against the Celtics last year
• The C’s are 6-5 against the Clippers since the 2004-05 season
• The Celtics are leading the all-time series 81-31 with the Celtics 41-11 at home

Keys to the Game
Defense - Defense wins games and the Celtics need to continue to make it a priority. When they play team defense, good things happen. They lost their trust on defense while KG was out. Hopefully with him back, they will regain that trust and get back to playing the lock down defense that will win them the championship.

Rebound - The Celtics need to make an effort to crash the boards and get more rebounds, especially on the offensive end. In the past few games they have allowed themselves to be out-rebounded and that makes games alot closer than they should be. Rebounding is all about effort and they have to get back to putting out that effort.

Focus - The Celtics' focus has wavered recently and because of that they have lost several games they should have won. They need to regain their focus and get back to playing as a team.

Play 48 minutes - The Celtics need to come out strong to start the game. They also must play hard through all 4 quarters. They did better against the Blazers but still didn't put them away when they had a lead. They have to get back to putting teams away once they get them down.

X-Factor
Revenge
The Celtics suffered a heartbreaker out in LA when Baron Davis hit a last second shot to win the game. They have to have that game on their mind when they take the court in this one in order to even the score.

Starting lineup is starting to show signs of that good ole Celtics basketball but the 2nd unit has stunk it up so far

Here are some stats thats going to stand out :

1. Our bench got outscored by their bench by a total of 31-16....our bench is highly unproductive and unless our starting 5 stays healthy and is able to keep playing long minutes, I doubt we'll be able to handle better teams with our current bench production.

2. We got out rebounded once again..They grabbed 11 offensive rebounds to our 5..

Its nice to win but its an ugly win..we're supposed to beat teams like these so I wouldn't consider this win a statement of any sort.

I think the bench's problem is that there is no true leader out there. We don't have a PG to run the offense off the bench. Eddie does ok, but when he has to run the offense, he is pretty ineffective as a scorer. When Quisy comes back I think we see some improvement. If Quisy does run the offense, Eddie's production will pick up. If they could get a true PG that would be even better but even having Quisy to run the point will make a difference.

Perk had 15 rebounds. He was doing his part but the other bigs weren't really going to the boards. I saw one offensive rebound that left my mouth hanging open. Big Baby was right in front of the basket and there were 2 Clippers there. The ball bounced off the rim almost in front of Big baby - all he had to do was reach out and grab it. Instead he turned and ran to toward the other end allowing the Clippers to get the ball. Our bigs need to have more urgency in grabbing rebounds or we won't win a title. Quisy's return won't fix that.

at least the game was interesting from an announcers perception. Mike Gorman doesn't do anything for me. Boring times 2. In fact I mute when he's working. Who ever the dude was doing the Clipper game actually gave some good technical info along with some good humored interacting with Tommy. *take it and.................... make it* won't make it into the Announcers Hall of Fame.

Now for the game. The Celts should be on cruise control at this point. A slow cruise. We're beat up and have lost enthusiasm. So let them crawl to the playoffs an hope for the best because right now it doesn't look promising for the ECF's. I would make the move now starting with R. Allen. Get a couple of impacting players to meld with Rondo and Perk. I wouldn't trade Pierce, he stays a Celtic after the crap he had to put up with. KG may not be trade meat. The rest is like garbage. Unless packaged. Other teams are getting stronger each year and soon they will have our lunch. Orlando's about to give us a glimpse into the future. Then another look beyond from Atlanta the next nite. This could get ugly. Hoping the best for the C's.

By saying Orlando is going to give us a glimpse into the future, do you mean they are the team of the future or that they are about to fall down like us with all the problems and whatnot? Because I really don't see Orlando repeating as EC champs. Let alone even pose a threat to the Lakers. They made a huge mistake by giving up Hedo and Courtney Lee and wasted money on Brandon Bass, they signed VC and now they have to adapt to his style of play which frankly, isn't working for them..its going to be hard for them to get themselves out of the hole they dug themselves into..but it'll have to start with building around Dwight..hes your championship piece and he'll walk if they cant utilize his potential.

Nice win. The C's did enough for the "w'." However, the teams needs more production from G-Davis.
