Boston did offer Davis and guards J.R. Giddens and Gabe Pruitt to the Pistons for forward Jason Maxiell and a first-round pick, but was quickly turned down.
INSANE PEOPLE, I like J-Max, but even Baby worth more than him right now, and we just give two extra guys with him for Maxiell, I don't see why Pistons turn this down

Detriot is rebuilding and does not want to part with their 1st round pick. Now I would go back and try to offer TA, Scal, and BBD for Amir Johnson and Jason Maxiel.

Amir Johnson was traded by Detroit to Milwaukee for some old Spurs

Today's Globe said that it was Detroit that made the offer and was turned down. That sounds more like it. I don't see Danny giving up Pruitt, Giddens and Big Baby for Maxiell and a pick.

I honestly wouldn't mind the trade (whoever proposed it). Overall, I think Maxiell is the best player in the group (slightly beating out Baby cause he's a better rebounder due to his longer arms). JRG and Pruitt are expendable players (meaning they can be replaced).
DET may no longer be a top 5 team in the east, meaning we can probably get a 1st round pick in the low 20's, late teens. With Ainge's eye for talent, I'd like to get him a pick in that range.

Maxiell is a beast; rebounding, shot-blocking, defense.
