I mean, Dwight does push guys around too, so it shouldn't go against Perk when he does it. But I'm just surprised they aren't calling him for it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The refs are too busy calling Perk on setting picks.

I give the game ball to Rondo the Magician. He did step up the intensity as someone said would be needed today. This was playoff atmosphere and the Celtics without the Heart of the team Pierce won. T. Allen does deserve special mention because he played admirably. Celtic defense was Super. Wallace inside works better than outside. I like these take no prisoners games. We have enough depth now to dish out the hits where as in the past we had to play soft. We are a good road team but should work hard for home court advantage for obvious reasons.
Coach Van Blunder wants no Holiday Games. Idiot. Orlando had a packed house. He should get a job in Wal Mart.

Re: Big Baby might play vs. the Magic « Result #5 Today at 6:43pm »
Baby was rusty...Hopefully he'll get more time in over the next few weeks and with him healthy, Marquis coming back and the whole team ready to go, we'll definitely be looking at a new banner
Nah, basketball was getting more attention overseas much before Yao Ming came to town. In '92, basketball was already a growing sport internationally, as the Dream Team was a much spectacled attraction all over the world.
Jordan did a lot to make the sport a global one too.
Yep the Yao Ming factor was just one I mentioned because it opened the gateway to the world's biggest market. Just like how TV ratings skyrocketed when Yao Ming played Yi Jianlian even though it was a horrible game. People from China badly wanted to see their own countrymen and this helped spread the NBA's influence even further. Jordan also did alot to commercialize the NBA but yeah I'm still sticking to my "small courts, easier to expand" theory. All you need is a ball to play the game..no pads like the NFL or bats/gloves/catchers pads like baseball.

Re: Lakers or Caveliers? « Result #7 Today at 6:39pm »
Agreed. I want the Cavs to win so bad because we're in a race for the top seed with the Lakers at the moment and a loss here would put us ahead by 1 if i'm not wrong. Plus the chance to see Lebron dump 40 on the Lakers with a triple double is always great. But on paper, the Cavs don't even look close to being on par with the Lakers. Someone other than Lebron will have to step it up big time tonight and I'm hoping that would be Shaq. Would be nice to see Shaq dominate the Lakers...oh the irony of it all~

Nice win on the road against arguably our strongest competitor in the east, and did it without Pierce, not to mention Daniels and a healthy Baby. Tony has really been a great boost since coming back. We will be a force to be dealt with once healthy.

Great effort by the whole team.
- Ray carried the offense down the stretch
- Rondo came up with a near triple double. 2 assists shy of it. But an amazing 13 rebounds where 4 of them were offensive ones.
- Tony did a good job filling in for Pierce and he only had one turnover. A few more performances like this and I'll start heaping more praise on him. But still a very admirable job filling in for Pierce.
- Sheed proving once again he is a valuable piece off the bench with 11 points.
- KG not as offensive today but made some crucial free throws down the stretch. Defensively he was there.
- Perkins in my opinion was tonights MVP. When you limit the league's most dominant center to 5 points and 3 offensive rebounds, you deserve to be given major credit.
- Not seeing much from Scal. Came in, made one shot then missed the next 3 while picking up 3 fouls..
One thing thats great about this ball club is that we play as a team. 19 assists in total and that pretty much sums up our style of play. Swing swing swing shoot. Compare that to the Magic's 7 assists where it makes things so much easier for our defenders knowing that whoever gets the ball first is probably going to shoot first.
I liked what Rondo did offensively but he needs to work on those free throws. Other than that, a great game by him carrying us during the early parts of the game and then committing to playmaking for his teammates at the later parts of the game.
